Shattering 「Backstage love drama」. Intragroup love affairs disclosed!!

Hearts soften at the sight of mark of affection displayed between young girls. However, when those marks of affection happen between top idols in active duty and when they push their camaraderie “beyond reasonable limits”, isn’t the heart of fans thrown out of order?

In this regard, in SKE48 the member who is by far the source of most thrills is none other that Team S, Matsui Jurina. Her who has been given the infamous title for an idol of “Kissing monster”, has extent her  grasp on the whole group.

Team E - Kimoto Kanon
The first time she really took me aback. She was sitting next to me in the bus, we were chatting normally and out of the blue “chu”…

Team S - Kizaki Yuria
When she is in a good day, Jurina-san is all over the place. It’s like she had been raised abroad (tln : alt -> like if she was a foreigner). Even though she is a purebred child of Nagoya! Besides she launches surprise attacks so there is no way to counter her….

It’s not clear how far the voice of the victims can be heard. However, during an handshake event which took place in January this year, among the 16 members who were standing on stage, it was revealed that only 4 didn’t received Jurina’s “baptism”.
Those were Team KII Matsumoto Rina, Hata Sawako, Mukaida Manatsu and Team E Kaneko Shiori.

Team S Yagami Kumi, who has been side by side with Jurina since the establishment of SKE48, gives us some light in the issue.

Yagami
If the other party is firm, if it looks like she will reject her, even Jurina won’t tempt anything. Because she knows she might upset the person. Jurina too has a certain faculty to sense danger.

I see, so the explanation lies in the consent of the other party…. However, even though Yagami gave us this “favorable” interpretation, a few minutes later she was turning Jurina down, kindly but firmly.

Kaneko
After the event that day backstage, Jurina-san suddenly drew close to me…. I tried rejecting her 「No no no no」 but…. Like the most natural thing on Earth, she landed a kiss on my cheek.

This is certainly an uncompromising kissing monster, unforgiving of any “leftover”. But even such a girl seems to have a special someone.

Churi-san (Team KII Takayanagi Akane) and Jurina seem to be the “real deal”. Even when Jurina-san is busy kissing other members here and there, she keeps asking around 「Haven’t seen Churi?」. When they’re together, sometimes Churi seats in Jurina’s lap…. I should stop here, if was to say more than this…

To sort this affair out, it appears further investigations will be necessary.

Beside, while I was gathering information I heard of another intriguing rumor.

The relationship between Team S Matsui Rena and Team KII Furukawa Airi.

Originally, Furukawa entered SKE48 as an admirer of MatsuiR, the relation between them started with this “longing gaze”. But today, it has progressed to reach a whole different level.
That’s at least what Team S Nakanishi Yuka has been secretly thinking.

The other day I plied Furukawa with questions. Notably 「If Rena was to propose you “Let’s go out”, what would you do? 」. Then Furukawa clearly said 「Of course I would go out with her」. But that girl becomes shy in front of Rena and she loses all her means (bitter smile).
From what I’ve seen, if Furukawa was to “man up” a bit more and press Rena, those two would immediately  go out together I think.

That close to cling but not yet clinging… Wait, are we in 「Kimi ni Todoke」 or what?!
As a journalist I wanted to go deeper in the subject but I had to bear with my curiosity and close my notebook here. Ah, adolescence is such a sublime thing. But, no matter how much you exult/celebrate youth between comrade, you’d better not forget the rule prohibiting love.

I liked this article, and I don’t have complains about the last remark.
Actually, on the contrary, I’m pretty happy about it. LOL
No, not because I like the “love relationships are prohibited rule”(I don’t), but because - and maybe some of you happened to read something like this - some people tend to “excuse” hypothetical relationships between members because “Well, since love is prohibited of course it would end up like this, so it’s okay” like relationships between girls weren’t real relationships (so they shouldn’t be counted in the rule) but a mere surrogate of boy\girl relationships unavoidable because of the circumstances.
Of course I know not everyone thinks that way, but that’s why I liked that remark. :)

After 2 months our experts are back, this time joined by Takayanagi Akane. Today’s discussion will revolves around the movie adaptation, released last month, of the popular light novel 「Maria-sama ga Miteru」. Those past years, girls love stories or those depicting strong bounds between female characters, genre commonly named 「yuri」 , have seen a big increase in 2D works. And 「Marimite」has been the instigator of this influx…. or so I heard.

Takayanagi Akane - As far as I’m concerned, I’ve this image “yuri=Airin” (laugh).

Furukawa Airi - Certainly because I like yuri things.  I’ve all the volumes of 「Marimite」at home, I also sometime buy yuri manga. Overall, yuri works are wrapped in a mist of fine art beauty. That’s the key point.

Speaking of which, in Hiramatsu-san Wikipedia page there was this mysterious description that appeared for an hour 「Homosexual (tln: “same gender lover” in the text) who made her coming out」. …. What was that about?

Hiramatsu Kanako - Since I keep saying to Team S Deguchi Aki-chan 「I love you」, someone probably had the wrong idea. Also the day of Yuimin’s birthday (Matsushita Yui, Team S member, president of the 2D enthusiasts association), I called Aki-chan from the hotel room we were staying at together for work. It happened what I was wearing at that time was making it impossible to go out of our room (laugh). (tln: Kanako is here subtly saying she was either naked or in panties lol) And so Yuimin wrote this misleading entry on her blog 「The circumstances of Kanako and Aki phone call are such I can absolutely not speak about it on my blog 」! Well, I’m very close from Aki-chan so it’s not really a big issue. We even promised to each other to go watch the 「Marimite」movie together ♪.

Nakanishi Yuka - 「Marimite」you say? Those uncalled-for suspicions will only increase (laugh).

Kanako - Is that so? But compared to other yuri works, 「Marimite」is quite tone down isn’t it?

Yuka - That’s something I appreciate about 「Marimite」. The relation between Yumi and Sachiko-onee-sama, is it a sibling-like relationship, are they simply 「Soeur」, or is it really love…. There is room for everyone to interpret it as he/she wants.

Airi - Exactly! That’s great when there is room for imagination/delusion, isn’t it? But the truth is I wouldn’t want to enrol in Lilian Girls’ Academy (laugh).

Kanako - Eh~, why?! Looks like such an oujou-sama school, I totally admire those places.

Yuka - On my end too Lilian Girls’ Academy is a bit…. Wouldn’t it feel weird for me to say things like 「Gokigenyou」? (tln : very polite form to greet/part with people)

Kanako - Ehー!? Actually during my high school days, I’ve been confessed to by a member of my tennis club. I was totally taken aback at the time and I flatly declined her…. She was very tomboyish. Much like Nakanishi.

Yuka - Oi!! Well, between SKE members skinship is quite intense so when we grow used to it maybe it lead us to think 「I could date a girl someday」.

Airi - Also, I think the visual factor plays a role. At the very least, I think all members are cute, so I gladly accept the furious skinship (laugh).

Kanako - If it was for beauties of another planet like Sasaki Nozomi or Kitagawa Keiko, I could probably go out with them. But generally speaking, I wouldn’t consider dating another girl. I better say it and make it clear, or my Wikipedia page may be updated again~!!

Yo. I was requested to translate this HapiHori yuri fangirling segment! So here I go! Before that, you have to know that during some episodes of HapiHori, they do a segment ( SKE roulette, if I remember well) and they start suggesting yuri pairings (and sometimes they start fangirling) using the member that comes out of the roulette. I might remember wrong, but I guess this talk started right after Jurina came out of the roulette.
Anyway, their stories will sound familiar to everyone who has read a yuri manga at least once XD

Kana: I have to say I like JuriRena. (they’re talking about Yuri pairings)
Kana: You know…
Yuuka: What?
Kana: I think JuriRena would be great! And in JuriRena’s case, Jurina would approach Rena calling her name while Rena would more or less ignore her. And that’s the moe point!!

So, Rena would be always watching her exact opposite, Jurina, from the library. As for Jurina, even if she has lots of friends, she can’t help but being interested in Rena. Since she’s the kind of personality she wasn’t able to get close to until now, she gradually gets more and more interested in her, wanting to know what kind of girl she is. So, being so interested, Jurina tries to approach Rena, but Rena doesn’t trust people easily so in the beginning she’s perplexed, thinking “Why does she care about me?”, going like “Leave me alone!”
Tomoka: Ah, I see!
Kana: Also, the friends surrounding Jurina would suggests her things like “Don’t lose your time with that Rena, leave her alone!” “She’s strange, I don’t get her”.
Airi: Ahhhhhh! I know, I know!!!
Kana: But still, Jurina is interested.
Yuuka: This is so likely to become a manga. (lol)
Kana: …and in the end, Rena would come closer to Jurina when she’s going through a hard time. This is fun, right????
Airi: Can I go with another one? This might be a little cliché but…Rena-san is sleeping in the library, and in that moment Jurina would get in. While thinking “Ah, she’s sleeping”, she would sit next to her. Then, looking at sleeping Rena-san she would think “Ah…she’s really beautiful”
Kana: Ahahah, then it starts a description-like talk like…”Her white, transparent skin…long, black hair…etc…etc..” (AHAHAHA)
Airi: And then, for some reason…. Ah, sorry, let me go on. For some reason Jurina ends up touching Rena-san’s hair, like this!
Kana: You totally got into the Yuri mode!! (LOL)
Yuuka: No problem with that!
Airi: She ends up touching her hair…and when Rena-san suddenly opens her eyes, Jurina would say “Oh, I’m sorry!” .
Kana: Oh, it’s good, really! And then, after that, she would start with “If you were a rooooose” (SOOO Appropriate!! They often put Two Roses or Kinect in when talking about Yuri, being it…yuri LOL)
Kana: Ah, we got fired up, right?
Kana: Ah, then then…When we’ll say to Jurina that we talked about them she would say “I’ll watch it for sure!!”, but Rena would go “Come on, stop it…!” And that would be great too!!!
Yuuka: Let’s do a movie about it!
Airi: Ah, I’d love that!
Kana: But you know, since we’re capable to fantasize like this, it would be dangerous for us to be in the production staff!! But I’m really confident it could turn out to be a masterpiece!! We might be able to create a story using every member!
